Unit Bio:

The 40 bedPre/Post unitwilladmit and prepare patients/families for surgical procedures including: Cardiac Procedures (TEE, catheterization, EP), Robotic Surgery (gynecology, urology, abdominal surgery), Vascular Surgery, Cardiac Surgery (adult and pediatric)

Summary:

Under the supervision of a RegisteredNursesand according to defined policies and procedures,performsvarious service duties and technicaltaskssuch as taking vital signs and assisting patients with basic hygiene and activities of daily living. Specific duties may vary by area of assignment. Consideration of the special needs and behaviors of specific patient populations is required.

The Certified Nursing Assistant II role assists in the administration of nursing care to designated patients under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse. Performs a variety of direct and indirect care duties.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):

1. Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.

2. License/Certifications: Current applicable state(s) license as a Certified Nursing Assistant required. Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date.

3. Experience: CNA experience 0-6 months. On-the-job training provided.
