THE POSITION

In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining, receiving, and distributing inventory for a variety of stock items and supplies within the warehouse and commissary area at the State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Fayette. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will responsible for inventory management, including receiving, storing, and issuing supplies and raw materials. Duties include receiving stocked items from vendors, verifying documentation of receipt, inspecting materials, matching packing slips with purchase orders, and ensuring the safety of product when unloading. Additionally, you will train and supervise inmate workers in tasks related to the receipt, storage, distribution, and inventory control of various stock items and supplies. You will also prepare regular reports and operate various equipment, such as forklifts, hand trucks, or delivery vehicles to move large or heavy items.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
  • Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year of stockroom, warehouse, retail sales, or clerical experience; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirements:

  • Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

  • You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
