Job Description

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

This position utilizes critical thinking and communication skills to translate business goals into data management requirements and to assist in the design and implementation of deliverables. This includes gathering requirements by working closely with requestors and stakeholders, participating in planning and delivery, explaining to executives, stakeholders, and users the design structure and capabilities, and testing for completeness, accuracy and alignment with user needs. This position should be able to work independently as well as collaboratively with team members and stakeholders on multiple initiatives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Works with stakeholders from various business areas to translate their data needs and goals by understanding data structures, determining data definitions, gathering data requirements, analyzing business processes, and evaluating the accuracy of data elements and metrics with moderated guidance.
  • Develops reports, and spreadsheets for use throughout P&C Operations using the tools, standards, and platforms in use at the time with moderated guidance.
  • Develops SQL queries to extract and manipulate data and build data processes to validate reports and dashboards with moderated guidance.
  • Responds to support questions promptly, courteously, and accurately, with an analysis of the results and any issues or changes made with moderated guidance.
  • Develops Power BI reports to visualize data based on stakeholder requirements

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Understands and utilizes the policies, procedures, and processes used throughout P&C Operations related to data governance.
  • Identifies data errors and works with the appropriate stakeholders to correct the errors timely with moderate guidance.
  • Ensures the data produced remains secure, respecting corporate privacy and security procedures.
  • Translates findings into easy-to-understand visuals and written summaries for non-technical audiences, providing a clear view into interpreting the data.
  • Experience writing SQL queries

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Additional Qualifications:
    • Must have strong communication and people skills.
    • Experience and competence with Microsoft Office tools (e.g., Excel, Access, Outlook, Word, Copilot).
    • Experience with data visualization tools (i.e., PowerBI, Tableau) using graphs, charts, map features.

PREFERENCES:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, Data Analytics, or a related field.
