The Tax Digital Services (TDS) is one of the fastest growing practice groups in all of RSM Tax. The TDS team is focused on enhancing RSM US's ability to deliver comprehensive, value-added, and efficient tax services to our clients. It is a dynamic team with professionals of varying backgrounds from tax functional, tax technical, technology development, and project management. The team consults and executes on a wide range of initiatives involving process, tool development, and implementation including training development, engagement management, and tool design.

The Role

You'll lead a high-performing, technology-enabled team in the TrDE Center of Excellence, working closely with clients to develop and implement automations and innovative solutoins that drive process efficiencies and deliver meaningful value.

Some of the opportunities you will have:

  • Meet with clients and engagement teams to process map, identify areas of improvement and opportunities where automation and technology can be introduced.

  • Build automation workflows to help clients and teams cut hours as well as enhance deliverables.

  • Collaborating with other Tax Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), technical teams, and project managers on development projects.

  • Leading and engaging various teams to resolve problems as they arise.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in required (preference given to Business or Technology major).

  • CPA, JD, or EA required

  • Minimum 7+ years analyzing the tax implications of securities trading, including wash sales, constructive sales, straddles and bond amortization

  • Prior public accounting experience with a mid to large size firm(s) or other professional services experience required.

  • Strong communication skills for differing audiences and situations.

  • Ability to coordinate and work effectively with teammates, end-users and leadership.

  • Ability to work in a virtual team environment.

  • Ability to complete work in an acceptable timeframe and manage a variety of detailed tasks and responsibilities simultaneously and with accuracy to meet deadlines, goals, and objectives and satisfy internal and client needs.

Preferred:

  • 7+ years of related work experience required in individual tax accounting, data visualization tools (i.e. Power BI, Tableau etl), ETL tools (i.e. Alteryx, etc) and Excel VBA.

  • Mutual fund tax accounting, partnership tax accounting, and/or sub chapter k allocations experience.

  • Understanding of partnership tax allocation methodology in the hedge, private equity, real estate industry.

  • Strong working knowledge of analytics, data management, statistics, accounting, and computer applications.

  • Experience with tax compliance systems or financial systems and technology.

  • Experience with any level of coding.

At RSM, an employee's pay at any point in their career is intended to reflect their experiences, performance, and skills for their current role. The salary range (or starting rate for interns and associates) for this role represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, education, skills, work experience, certifications, location, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.

Compensation Range: $170,700 - $342,700

Individualsselected for this role will be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
