Position Summary

The Cloud Systems Design & Development Engineer 8 is responsible for contributing to the overall strategic vision and integrating a broad range of solutions in support of client requirements for cloud projects. This position plays a key role in formulating and defining system scope and objectives, developing or modifying processes to solve complex problems for cloud systems and business/electronic interfaces, and achieving desired results through the use of innovative technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

Services performed include, but are not limited to:

  • Contributing to overall strategic vision and integrating a broad range of solutions in support of client requirements for cloud projects.

  • Formulating and defining system scope and objectives.

  • Developing or modifying processes to solve complex problems for cloud systems and business/electronic interfaces to achieve desired results through the use of innovative technologies.

  • Developing and applying advanced engineering and design methods, theories, and research techniques in the investigation and solution of complex and advanced cloud requirements, hardware/software interfaces, applications, and solutions.

  • Designing, developing, engineering, integrating, and architecting systems.

  • Managing, planning, and conducting major phases of significant projects.

  • Delivering solutions in increasingly complex and high-responsibility environments at senior staff levels.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in a software engineering field.

  • Active Secret clearance (required to obtain CAC card and system access; candidates without an active clearance will not be considered).

  • 2+ years of experience with IBM Maximo (custom development and integration).

  • Experience with software development, including strong knowledge of Java and J2EE frameworks.

  • Experience developing, implementing, and maintaining configuration of cloud-based systems (AWS, Azure, OCI, or GCP), ensuring proper integration with technologies and platforms.

  • Experience with IBM WebSphere Application Server.

  • Hands-on experience with Oracle development (PL/SQL, packages, triggers, etc.).

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with GitLab CI/CD pipeline creation and maintenance.

  • Knowledge of Apache NiFi for data flow automation.

  • Experience implementing SAML-based authentication.

  • Understanding of OIDC and OAuth2 protocols.

  • Experience with Agile methodology, extreme programming, product management, or software products.

  • Experience developing, implementing, and maintaining configuration of Azure cloud-based systems.

  • Experience migrating software applications.

CDO's total compensation for each position is negotiated within an established range. The final compensation will be determined by demonstrated skills and experience.
