Job Summary
Responsible for providing a first point of contact for student counsel and support in both curricular and co-curricular domains, and for the proactive cultivation of substantive relationships with students for the purpose of supporting their overall success through the completion of their academic program.

Responsibilities

  1. Academic Advising Services - 35%
  • Provides primary academic advising services to students within a specified, assigned group of degree programs and general support for all programs.
  • Provides logistical and student support for intensives and program introduction experiences.
  • Attends program orientations, introductions, etc.
  1. Student Relationship Cultivation - 30%
  • Cultivates substantive relationships with students to support their continued success.
  • Monitors students to ensure that new, continuing, and re-entering students are prepared to academically succeed.
  • Develops and administers personalized means of recognizing student achievement.
  • Connects at-risk students with the Manager and other appropriate staff, providing well-researched recommendations for support.
  1. Academic Record Verification - 15%
  • Verifies academic records and ensures that students fulfill academic requirements for graduation.
  • Partners with the Registrar's Office to administer academic policy and organize and maintain accurate student records.
  • Works collaboratively with university faculty and personnel to ensure accurate listings for commencement participation.
  1. Student Engagement Strategies - 10%
  • Implements proactive and reactive strategies to assist or re-engage students as needed, providing timely interventions and resolutions to retention concerns.
  • Compiles and organizes data in ERP-based tracking systems to ensure accurate success and retention measures.
  1. Technology Support - 10%
  • Supports Managers and Senior Student Success Advisors in the timely identification and reporting of issues and outages pertaining to student advising technology

Experience
  • Required Experience:
    • 3+ years of related experience.
Education
  • Required Education:
    • Bachelor's degree required.

Additional Information

Travel: This position requires some local and regional travel.

Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as desktop and/or laptop computers, photocopiers and smartphones.

Expected Hours of Work:

Typically, days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, with the expectation to work specific schedules and hours as identified and communicated by management. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. This is a 40 hour per week, 12 months per year position.
