The Maintenance Shift Supervisor is responsible for the supervising and facilitating the maintenance department in respect to the repair, inspection, installation, and general maintenance of the production equipment. The Maintenance Shift Supervisor will work closely with manufacturing.

This is a rotating shift position. Salary is based on qualifications and experience.


Responsibilities

  • Supervises the execution of jobs according to the daily work schedule and assign jobs in a manner to maximize maintenance personnel productivity.
  • Prioritizes and coordinates the work of all maintenance personnel to eliminate delays. Look ahead to avoid bottlenecks to prevent delays caused by maintenance personnel waiting for operations, permitting, electrical lockout or materials.
  • Ensure that all safety, hot work, line break, and vessel entry permits are filled out correctly and inspect the job to determine that work is safe to proceed prior to signing off on the permit.
  • Follows up on assignments to determine progress and status of the scheduled work.
  • Enforces safety rules and work rules as applicable for the work.
  • Provides support to the maintenance personnel as needed including the following:
    • Distribute daily assignments to the mechanics.
    • Reassign task to mechanics as work orders are completed.
    • Assure all tools, materials, and special equipment are being used effectively.
    • Make sure that safety and housekeeping practices are being observed.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 5 years of general maintenance or mechanical experience and/or training. Manufacturing experience is required.
  • Proven track record of focusing on safety, quality, production, and environmental matters.
  • Superior communication (verbal & written), ability to motivate, prioritize, and organize in a dynamic, fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong supervisory skills and leadership skills.
  • Ability to address issues, follow up, and implement solutions as required.
