Where you will work

The Augusta mill sits along the Savannah River, on the state border between Georgia and South Carolina and manufactures light, medium, and heavy weight coated paperboard. It is a well-invested SBS paperboard manufacturing facility with approximately 600 thousand tons of capacity. This facility boasts over 700 employees and has been in operation for almost 65 years. Located on 3,000 acres, the Augusta site operates two paper machines that produce 1,940 tons per day. The Augusta Mill is Clearwater Paper's largest paperboard facility and critical to the success of our strategy and future.

Augusta, Georgia is a vibrant community along the Georgia/South Carolina border about 150 miles east of Atlanta and 70 miles west of Columbia. What you will do

The Master Planner/Scheduler, Maintenance develops work plans for all planned work executed by maintenance (mill or contractor) in his/her area. Jobs will be scheduled once planning is complete, and resources are available.



  • Reviews all new area notifications before the MOPS meeting and familiarizes themselves with notification requirements
  • Attends the MOPS Meeting process as critical team member
  • Scopes all new work using the scope sheet at the job site before planning in JDE (when appropriate, schedules a craftsperson for detailed scoping when access is limited or expected job complexity requires craftsperson scoping)
  • Plans work orders in JDE that have been prioritized by OMCs;
  • Plans Work Order operations for internal and external craft resources in sufficient detail for FLLs to develop accurate schedules, Plans will include stores parts and material and external parts and material requirements, special tools and auxiliary equipment (scaffolding, forklifts, etc.) Jobs are to be kitted with parts, work order plan, and staged in staging areas. Staging areas to be determined by MOPS team.
  • Obtains outside services quotes and bids utilizing mill specifications and standards before writing requests for external parts, materials and services and performs timely Goods Receipt to maintain accurate cost control
  • Develops Job plans for frequent and large complex jobs and store as task list in JDE
  • Manage and own area master data in JDE
  • Owns all BOM in assigned area to ensures accuracy. Update as needed.
  • Manages requests to add/remove stores stocked parts
  • Participates on maintenance KPI review process providing and accepting actions for performance improvement against all maintenance KPIs
  • Manages Repair and Return parts
  • Takes leadership role in coordination of maintenance and operations outage work (Timelines and Bar Charts).
  • Prepare work plans with Contractors before on-site presence. Work plans to include site specific documentation


      What you will need



      • High School Diploma or G.E.D. required
      • Bachelor's degree in Engineering preferred
      • 5+ years' of maintenance experience
      • 5+ years' planning for mechanical maintenance
      • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
      • Must have good planning and organizational skills to coordinate activities between Maintenance and Operations
      • Self-motivated and energetic
      • Strong analytical / troubleshooting skills
      • Demonstrated ability to estimate craft, man hours, and cost requirements for jobs
      • Experience in multi-crafted maintenance team-oriented environment
      • Proven computer skills and proficiency in Excel, MS word, MS Project, (JDE a plus)
      • High speed manufacturing environment, sustained exposure to high frequency noises, multiple hours standing, walking on concrete surfaces
      • Personal Protective Equipment required in mill environment
      • Dirt, noise, odor, & temperature extremes
      • Climbing stairs, ladders, and scaffolding
      • Exposure to hazardous chemicals used in manufacturing process
