Job Details:
The School of Medicine on the Macon, Georgia campus is searching for a Research Associate.

Responsibilities:

The Research Associate (RA) will assist the Principal Investigator with various laboratory-related tasks. The RA should be able to work independently with moderate supervision. The RA also needs to be an effective technical communicator when consulting with the Chair, Principal Investigator, and other laboratory personnel.

Duties include:
  • Provides technical laboratory support which includes accurate preparation of samples, attention to detail, troubleshooting, utilizing aseptic techniques, maintenance of varied laboratory equipment, and compliance with all laboratory procedures.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge through studying and reading scientific literature and laboratory protocols.


Qualifications:

The Research Associate position requires a bachelor's degree in molecular biology or a related field and four years of related research experience or two years experience with a master's degree.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Possesses strong computer skills to enter data, maintain protocol manuals, and conduct literature and internet searches.
  • Ability to work with and organize data analysis utilizing Word and Excel.
  • Ability to learn computer-based and web-based applications required for data collection and management, and document preparation and formatting.
