This is a full-time position with direct responsibility for instructing nursing students about a variety of different aspects of the profession and may work to teach patient care in the lab or clinical setting, or may lecture on specific topics within the field of nursing. Must maintain regular office hours and teach courses within the ADN nursing curriculum using a variety of teaching modalities and appeal to the different student populations and different learning styles of students.

Typical Responsibilities Include:

  • Teaching college students in the associate's degree nursing program.
  • Writing syllabi, lecturing, testing, grading and evaluating students.
  • Advising students on course and degree requirements.
  • Tutoring students as needed.
  • Attending orientation, advisory, and faculty meetings to provide input and remain up-to-date.
  • Communicating with the department chair regarding issues, grievances, and special circumstances of program students.
  • Engaging in internal and external college activities to serve the community and fulfill the mission of the college.

To Be Considered You Need:

  • A minimum of a master's of science degree in Nursing with a minimum of one year of teaching experience and a minimum of two years of recent nursing experience
  • To be a Registered Nurse with a current, active, unencumbered license in the state of Ohio.
  • Current BLS through the American Heart Association.
  • Experience with integration of educational technology
  • Knowledge of the nursing accreditation process
  • Preference is for experience in teaching nursing lecture, practice lab and clinical experiences in a professional nursing program or an education/staff development department.
