Job Description

Overview of the Position:


The Laboratory Technician is responsible for maintaining tank chemistry for all plating processes at ACI. This includes testing and balancing chemical solutions, submitting process and solution samples for analysis, and ensuring high standards of good laboratory practices (GLP) and lab cleanliness are maintained.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Monitor, test, and maintain tank chemistry to meet quality and production standards.
  • Perform testing of prepared test pieces to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Submit chemical and process samples for internal and external testing as required.
  • Report any deviations from standard operating procedures.
  • Troubleshoot and assist in resolving plating-related issues.
  • Maintain an accurate chemical inventory and manage expired or surplus materials appropriately.
  • Allocate and dispose of laboratory chemicals in accordance with company procedures.
  • Ensure the lab is organized, clean, and compliant with good laboratory practices (GLP).
  • Perform regular housekeeping duties to maintain a safe and orderly lab environment.
  • Assist with chemical disposal in compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:



  • Must speak, read and write the English language.
  • Should have basic computer software skills.
  • Prior laboratory experience a plus.

Requirements

Education / Experience Requirements:



  • Must have H.S. Diploma or GED.

Language Skills:


Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.



Mathematical Skills:


Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.



Reasoning Ability:


Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.



Physical Demands and Work Environment:




  1. Must be able to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel. Reach with hands and arms. Stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Talk or hear.
  2. Must be able to lift heavy parts (50-80 lbs.)
  3. Must have color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors). Ability to adjust focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus)
  4. Loud noise area.
