HX5 is currently seeking a Windows System Administrator Functional Lead to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct support to the Missile Defense Space Enterprise Architecture (MDSEA) organization, ensuring the stability and availability of critical IT infrastructure and services.
  • Manage and mentor a team of Windows SAs in performing system installations, sustaining existing physical and virtual
    machines, and configuring hardware, software, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc., in accordance
    with established standards and project/operational requirements.
  • Assume ownership of, and delegate as needed, tasks derived from project, sustainment, and break/fix requests.
  • Assist Engineers and Change Managers in developing and maintaining baseline configuration documentation.
  • Develop and maintain system administration documentation, such as Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and How-
    To guides, to facilitate the success of the Windows System Administration team.
  • Oversee and perform the hardening of Windows systems and ensure Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG)
    compliance.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity, DevSecOps, Solutions Engineers, and application teams to ensure system administration
    and compliance practices are consistently maintained.
  • Research and recommend innovative, and where possible, automated approaches for system administration tasks.
  • Perform system automation activities utilizing scripting tools and languages.
  • Collaborate with leads, engineers, Linux SAs, and other technical teams to ensure the overall health and stability of the
    MDSEA enclave.

Salary Range: This position is expected to pay $135,000 - $150,000 annually; depending on experience, education, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.

Education andExperience:

  • Must have 5, or more, years of directly related experience in a government environment.
  • Must have experience with Active Directory and its core components (ADUC, DHCP, DNS, etc.).
  • Must have experience managing SolarWinds Orion and Security Event Manager (SEM).
  • Hands-on experience with the administration of virtualization solutions: vSphere and VMware Aria Operations is
    required.
  • Must have a current DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification (e.g. CompTIA Security + CE Certification)
  • Must have experience and a thorough understanding of the MDSEA environment.
  • Must have an active DoD Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility.

Desired Requirements:

  • Have experience with Identity Management (IdM) solutions.
  • Have experience with Windows Server 2019/2022 and Windows 10/11.
  • Have basic networking knowledge.
  • Have experience with DISA STIGs and vulnerability remediation.
  • Have a working knowledge of Configuration Management processes.
  • Have experience using Remedy.

Other Position Requirements:

  • Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position.
  • Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain the required level clearance by date of hire.
  • Must have a valid Driver's License.
