Student Intern, Transportation



This position is a temporary, full-time summer student internship working 40 hours a week (estimated dates May 2026 - August 2026).



Position Highlights:


If you are interested in the field of Transportation and are looking to gain valuable experience and growth opportunities that will help catapult your career after graduation, this position may be the perfect fit for you! As a Transportation Student Intern, you will work side by side with our Transportation team on a variety of exciting projects ranging from bridge replacement projects and design of major arterials. You will work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, collaborating with engineering team members across our multiple disciplines. You will also have opportunities to attend field observations.



Position Responsibilities:


In this role, you will be part of a world-class engineering team, bringing high-quality designs to life for our amazing clients. This position will expose you to most aspects of Transportation, from roadway plans to engineering drawings. Your excellent communication skills will be put to good use, as you will be coordinating and collaborating with a variety of professionals.



Position Qualifications:



  • Completed at minimum sophomore year of a Civil Engineering degree program
  • Basic knowledge of AutoCAD, MicroStation, Geopak, and Corridor Modelling .
  • At least one year of experience in the Transportation industry and a valid driver's license are a plus.

  • Legal authorization to work in the United States, and should not require, now or in the future, sponsorship for an employment-based visa.



Working Conditions and Physical Demands:


You are willing and able to work in a professional, climate-controlled office environment with moderate noise levels and consistent exposure to light, both natural and artificial. Workstations are in an open space layout with frequent collaboration and interactions from co-workers throughout the day. Within the office, you are willing and able to constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer. Additional requirements include providing on-site technical assistance by occasionally accessing client or construction sites with varying terrain.

Our planning and engineering services include NEPA planning, community studies, public involvement, roadway design, structure design, traffic management, pavement marking plans, signing plans, utility construction design, and utility coordination. We have a diverse portfolio of projects that include interchange reconfigurations, new location roadways, multi-lane widening, reduced conflict intersection design, intersection improvements, pedestrian bridge design, highway bridge, and culvert design. Our diverse experience allows us to deliver projects from inception to completion with a focus on quality and efficiency.
