Pay Rate: $18.23



GENERAL DESCRIPTION:


This position is responsible for leading and directing daily operations in the scale mezzanine to ensure the production of safe, quality food.



MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS/DUTIES OF THE POSITION:



  • Conduct daily inspections to ensure that the equipment and environment are in safe operating condition.
  • Assign individuals to Master Packs as needed and provide them with clear instructions.
  • Communicate with the dry room lead, packaging lead, and all PMOs to ensure the proper product is being processed.
  • Inform PMOs about the status of the hoppers.
  • Guide scale workers on how to properly "fluff" products in the hoppers.
  • Monitor the production schedule and sequence.
  • Ensure that all required paperwork is completed accurately and on time.
  • Supervise breaks and lunches.
  • Maintain cleanliness in the work area.
  • Work a rotating schedule.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by your supervisor.


Required Skills

JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES:



  • SKILLS: Strong communication and computer skills are required. The candidate must be a self-starter with initiative, and able to lead and direct a team.
  • ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Candidates should have the hands-on ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented food processing environment. The ability to work independently with limited supervision is necessary. Regular attendance, adherence to directions, positive interaction with co-workers, and a clear understanding and following of posted work rules and procedures are essential


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:



  • Work is performed in a cool environment with an average temperature of 34 degrees Fahrenheit. Concentrated chlorine and concealed ammonia are present in the area. Work surfaces and floors may be wet. Employees are required to wear approved shoes and protective equipment.
  • Individuals must be able to lift up to 10 pounds unassisted for up to 75% of the workday and 6 pounds overhead as required by the job. Constant standing on a concrete floor, along with reaching, bending, stooping, and repetitive hand movements, may also be necessary.


WORK HOUR & TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:



  • First shift - Ability to work overtime; some weekends are required.

Required Experience

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:



  • Applicants must have a high school diploma, GED, or demonstrate the ability to perform assigned tasks. Completion of required WorkKeys assessments is necessary.
