Description

First Merchants Bank is seeking a Client Relationship Banker - Digital to join our team! This position will execute on individual and team sales metrics for the department to achieve the strategic and tactical goals of the company. Serve as a primary point of contact in the department for sales and services requests. Exceed personal production goals and deliver a meaningful client experience. Lead new account acquisition activities and participate in outbound calling activities to increase market share. Prospect, generate, process and close consumer loans. Support the management team in business banking activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Provide high quality customer service on a wide variety of general banking matters.

    • Assess client's financial position to identify additional relationship opportunities.
    • Identify common service requests that need to be supported digitally. Consult with banking center staff on service needs that require a brick and mortar location. Set appointments as needed for banking center team members.
    • Assist clients in reconciliation of accounts, answer questions and resolve complaints.


  • Drive department productivity and growth through the following responsibilities:

    • Develop and implement sales tactics to drive consumer deposit, loan growth, and household acquisition and expansion of existing client relationships.
    • Drive digital adoption by following up on lead generation provided by marketing, product and sales.
    • Process and support all digital lending applications submitted to the consumer bank. Partner closely with lending leader team to drive the consumer lending strategy of the consumer line of business.
    • Achieve all partner referral and appointment goals monthly.
    • Utilize digital tools to provide education and help clients enroll in and utilize electronic banking products and services during account onboarding.
    • Exceed all established individual and team sales goals.


  • Assist with sales and service leadership.

    • Support fellow associates in the attainment of individual and team sales and service goals.
    • Fully engage in the sales management process including, but not limited to leading daily huddles, weekly sales meetings, touch bases and coaching sessions.


  • Comply with information and account security policies including consumer and business verification procedures.
  • Understand and ensure compliance for regulations and reporting, including but not limited to: BSA, OFAC, CIP, EDD, etc.


To be successful in this position, we require the following:



  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • A minimum of two (2) years of banking, sales, or related experience to include selling products or services; or, if bachelor's degree, then demonstrated leadership or goal achievement in related school activities or internships.
  • This position requires S.A.F.E Act registration at the time of employment through the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS). Employees hired or transferring into this position will need to meet the qualification requirements within three (3) months of hire.


The following would be a plus:



  • Prior banking experience.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Demonstrated ability to sell and cross-sell banking products and services.
