About the Role:

The Manager, Inside Plant Power & Capacity Operations is responsible for the design, monitoring, and lifecycle management of AC and DC power systems, HVAC capacity, and facility infrastructure across all Uniti-owned Points of Presence (POPs), data centers, and regeneration sites. This role ensures accurate tracking of power and cooling availability, operational readiness for customer colocation, and reliability of critical infrastructure systems.

What You'll Do:

  • Oversee the health, capacity, and performance of AC and DC power plants, UPS systems, rectifiers, batteries, and backup generators across all critical facility locations.

  • Maintain accurate, real-time records of available vs. committed capacity for power (AC and DC), HVAC, and rack space to support internal engineering review and colocation sales readiness.

  • Proactively lead efforts to prevent oversubscription of power, cooling, and space through data-driven intake review and engineering validation processes.

  • Plan and direct power augmentations, generator upgrades, HVAC expansions, and facility builds using internal teams and third-party vendors.

  • Build and maintain dashboards and reports that monitor total draw, redundancy health, and committed load thresholds across facilities.

  • Supervise data center technicians and facilities vendors, ensuring compliance with operational standards and preventative maintenance protocols.

  • Forecast and manage budgets for utility expenses, maintenance, upgrades, and infrastructure expansion projects.

  • Own the lifecycle and performance records for facility components, including power gear, HVAC systems, monitoring sensors, BMS/SCADA integrations, and remote access tools.

  • Ensure all critical infrastructure is accurately represented in Salesforce, Libre, and/or designated DCIM platforms, including detailed power and cooling availability metrics.

  • Collaborate with Sales Engineering and Network Planning teams to ensure new deployments or customer adds do not exceed available facility resources.

  • Lead root cause analysis and response plans for power-related events, with a focus on maintaining uptime and continuous improvement.

Do You Have:

  • BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent field experience.

  • 5+ years managing critical facility power infrastructure or data center environments.

  • Deep understanding of commercial AC power systems, DC power plant architecture, HVAC load planning, and backup power integration.

Even Better:

  • Experience with capacity planning, monitoring systems, and facility reporting tools.

  • Familiarity with NEC, NFPA 70E, and Tier/Uptime design principles.

  • Strong organizational and documentation skills; attention to detail in recordkeeping is essential.

  • Proficiency in Excel and data analysis platforms (Power BI preferred); Salesforce or DCIM tool experience a plus.
