Cloud Applications Developer (Sr) Sterling, VA (remote) Pay From: $150,000 Per Year MUST: Sr. Cloud Applications Developer Current IRS MBI clearance required 8 years' experience software development experience Strong proficiency in either Python or Java Extensive hands-on experience with AWS services, including: Amazon S3, Amazon DynamoDB, AWS Lambda, AWS Step Functions, Amazon RDS, AWS CloudWatch Infrastructure as Code (IaC) experience with: Terraform or AWS CloudFormation, Version control with Git Experience in building cloud-native applications Knowledge of serverless architecture patterns Understanding of microservices architecture Experience with RESTful APIs Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines Knowledge of containerization (Docker) AWS Specific Skills: AWS SDK implementation, AWS security best practices, IAM roles and permissions management, experience with AWS CLI, understanding of AWS Well Architected Framework Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field DUTIES: Build and deploy cloud-native applications leveraging AWS services. Apply serverless and microservices architecture patterns to ensure scalability and flexibility. Design and integrate RESTful APIs for internal and external consumption. Responsible for design and engineering of Cloud Based Infrastructure solutions based on AWS and/or Azure Responsible for designing solutions that enable self-service cloud, provisioning, and management by end-users (e.g., service catalogs, service request workflows) while integrating with existing data lake / data warehouse solutions (e.g., data portfolios, workspaces, data products/portfolios). Responsible for communication with senior/executive leadership Responsible for keeping abreast of new and emerging technologies. Implement applications using the AWS SDK to interact with cloud resources. Configure and manage IAM roles, policies, and permissions to enforce least-privilege security. Follow AWS security best practices across all environments and deployments. Ensure compliance with the AWS Well-Architected Framework for operational excellence, security, reliability, performance, and cost optimization Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to streamline application deployment and updates. Utilize AWS CLI and automation tools for efficient cloud operations. Manage containerized applications using Docker and integrate with orchestration platforms (e.g., ECS, EKS) Partner with architects, product managers, and other engineers to deliver end-to-end solutions. Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, ensuring system reliability and availability. Stay current with emerging AWS services, tools, and best practices to continuously enhance solutions.
