This district-funded position is projected to transition into a permanent, full-time faculty role after August 2028. The selected candidate will: * Develop and teach Bachelor-level AIM courses in multiple instructional modalities * Support and mentor adjunct and dual enrollment faculty * Apply active learning strategies and integrate instructional technologies * Provide leadership on division and college initiatives * Serve on college and district committees * Co-chair an industry advisory council * Engage in ongoing professional development This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a collaborative academic environment while advancing innovation in AI and Machine Learning education through this groundbreaking Bachelors degree program. Essential Functions Supervises and instructs a population of students, including students in high school bridge programs, in a classroom and/or lab setting, online or hybrid, accelerated, and/or other alternative schedules and formats; uses active learning strategies to engage students in learning and promotes student success; facilitates student learning, retention, and achievement; incorporates instructional technology and employs alternative delivery or scheduling techniques where appropriate. Develops instructional materials and curriculum; develops written syllabi/course outlines and course materials; assesses and evaluates knowledge of subject matter taught and monitors students' scholastic records; prepares and grades examinations or other learning activities; participates in division and college assessment and program review processes; uses assessment and evaluation results to improve instruction and student learning. Maintains office hours to assist, tutor, and advise students to promote learning, citizenship, and personal development; works with students outside of the classroom on instructional activities and projects; provides leadership for STEM programs and activities; develops and cultivates relationships with high school and university institutions to develop and promote transfer pathways for students; cultivates relationships with business and industry to identify new programs and work skills and develops internship and co-op opportunities. Performs dual enrollment supervision and faculty observations as required. Remains current with new trends and developments in the field through technology, research, reading/studying the literature, attendance at conferences, courses, seminars and/or workshops; develops and enhances knowledge of teaching and learning; participates in college and district activities, including department/division meetings, committees, workshops and projects; contributes to the academic life and mission of the college; demonstrates intercultural competence in interactions with students, staff, and the community; maintains a team approach in collaborating with faculty, staff, and students. Minimum Qualifications A graduate degree is required. Degree in Artificial Intelligence Computer Science or Engineering with a preference given to a master's degree or higher. 2. Recent experience teaching at a community college or university, utilizing a variety of delivery formats including face-to-face, online, live-online, hybrid, and short-term/accelerated courses. 3. Experience with teaching methods that promote student engagement using experiential, collaborative and/or active learning in different teaching modalities. 4. Experience developing college-level curriculum, program review, and assessment. 5. Industry and/or teaching experience in artificial intelligence. 6. Industry and/or teaching experience in computer programming, with preference for python. 7. Experience building industry partnerships that help promote mentoring and/or internships. Special Working Conditions May be required to work at multiple campuses. May be required to work and instruct during evenings and weekends, and/or be assigned to teach on particular days. May be required to lift objects weighing up to 30 lbs.
