Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Process Engineer in the field of wastewater treatment for dairy manufacturing processes and plant utility systems to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the design of our wastewater treatment facility as well as utilities systems on the new greenfield site in Rome, NY as well as supporting other Chobani sites. This role requires a deep understanding of design and operation of wastewater treatment for dairy manufacturing processes and typical plant utility systems. The role will work in partnership with the Capital Project Manager responsible for the construction of the wastewater treatment and utilities systems. Principal Process Engineer is a comparable grade level to Director of Process Engineering, however is an individual contributor role and does not have any direct reports.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and development of efficient and sustainable wastewater treatment and utilities systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations
  • Work closely with other departments, including construction, operations, and maintenance, to ensure seamless integration of process engineering solutions
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with process engineering projects, ensuring safety and reliability
  • Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of process designs, specifications, and project progress
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies
  • Travel on average of up to 3 weeks per month to Chobani sites
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in process engineering, with a focus on dairy facility wastewater treatment systems and utilities.
  • Experience in diary manufacturing processes
  • Proficiency in process simulation software, CAD tools, and other relevant engineering applications
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license or equivalent certification is an advantage
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop innovative solutions to technical challenges
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including team management, mentorship, and conflict resolution
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of work
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities simultaneously

Compensation Range: $144,000.00-$216,000.00, plus bonus.
