Job Summary
Provide support for the Division of Student Affairs Student Organization Center. Develops, organizes, and delivers high quality programs to enhance and support student life and the university experience. Will regularly supervise student workers and implement and or participate in division and other major campus programming initiatives.
Minimum Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree.
One (1) or more years related work experience.
An equivalent level of education and/or experience is acceptable.
Preferred Education and Experience
One to three years related work experience; preference will be given to experience in higher education. Six months to one year of supervision experience (indirect or direct supervision). An equivalent level of education and or experience is acceptable.
Other Qualifications
To the extent this position requires the holder to research, work on, or have access to critical infrastructure as defined in Section 117.001(2) of the Texas Business and Commerce Code, the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the critical infrastructure is a minimum qualification to be hired and to continue to be employed in the position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Answer student organization-related questions about topics including but not limited to policy, procedure, successful management, getting involved, etc.
  • Process administrative tasks for student organizations such as Media requests, facilities request, Special Event Risk Assessment form, etc.
  • Manage room request approvals through two room reservation systems (Mazevo & ASTRA)
  • Assist with Large Campus Events (Homecoming, Weeks of Welcome, Late-Night Breakfast) and with events hosted by areas within Student Involvement and Engagement
  • Assist with advising the Student Organization Funding Advisory Board (SOFAB)
  • Oversee up to 5 Office Assistants within the Student Organization Center which include but not limited to time management, scheduled one-on-one meetings, professional development for the students, etc.
  • Manage the bi-annual registration process for student organizations
  • Manage the new organization formation and approval process
  • Coordinate and develop training, programs, and services for student organizations at the University of Texas at Dallas, including but not limited to: Organization Fairs, Officer Transition Trainings, Grocery Bingo, etc.
  • Coordinate state mandated risk management initiatives and ensure training and record-keeping complies with Texas Educational Code
  • Develop resources to improve the effectiveness and success of student organization officers


Occasional night and weekend work

Sitting at a desk completing work, occasional standing, walking for events, lifting (items 25lbs or more), and running on and off campus work related errands.
