DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Forensic Security Employee Trainee, you will engage in a comprehensive full-time training program that combines classroom instruction with closely monitored practical experience. This program is designed to equip you with the necessary skills to care for and treat mentally ill patients referred by the criminal justice system. Under the guidance of a Forensic Security Employee Trainer and a Forensic Security Employee 2, you will undertake non-professional nursing responsibilities for patients with diverse emotional and physical challenges, while also ensuring a therapeutic and secure environment. You will apply your understanding of relevant policies and regulations to effectively perform your duties. In your role, you will act as a patient advocate, upholding respect and confidentiality while assisting with personal needs and belongings. Your responsibilities will include basic nursing tasks such as collecting specimens, monitoring vital signs, and providing skin care as needed. Regular rounds will be conducted to maintain the safety and integrity of the facility, ensuring all patients are accounted for and observations are documented in accordance with established policies. Providing emotional support is also essential, as you will foster positive interactions in both group and individual settings.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours during training will be 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM,
- After training, will be 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, working 10 out of 14 days in a two-week period
- Overtime and travel as needed
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Completion of the tenth school grade; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
Other Requirements:

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and drug screening.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
- Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
