Operate newer, well maintained equipment!! Position is located in Geismar, LA Recruiter: Amy O'Brien / amy.obrien@airgas.com / 620-945-0528 Airgas Shuttle Drivers safely transport cylinder gases and hard goods between branches and plants using company semi tractor-trailers, interacting with internal customers. Drivers are part of a professional team, encouraged to grow, and enjoy work/life balance with Airgas' modern fleet (most vehicles under 6 years old), equipped with On Board Computers, collision avoidance, camera technology, and GPS. Job Duties: Drive a truck with a capacity exceeding 3 tons to transport materials to and from designated locations. This includes delivering compressed gas cylinders, liquid cylinders, and hard goods to other branch locations. Maintain accurate records such as Department of Transportation Driver's Logs and vehicle logs, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. Properly complete and balance load manifests and all other vehicle documents with truck counts and shipping documents before and after deliveries. Pick up empty cylinders from branch locations and return them to the plant for refilling, adhering to all federal, state, and local regulations. Safely operate a forklift, pallet jack, or other warehouse equipment for loading and unloading trucks, following all company policies and procedures. Perform pre and post-trip vehicle inspections, document any deficiencies, and ensure all equipment is in safe and good working order. Comply with all company policies and meet DOT requirements. Communicate in person with internal customers, providing information regarding order and delivery times. ________________________ Are you a MATCH? License and Certifications: Valid LA Class A Commercial Driver's License with Hazmat and Airbrake endorsements. Valid Medical Examiner's Card. Ability to obtain forklift operator certification. Driving Experience: One (1) year of prior Class A professional driving experience within the last five (5) years with a clean driving record (no more than two (2) convictions OR two (2) at-fault accidents in the last three years; OR no more than a combination of one (1) conviction and one (1) at-fault accident in the last three years). Alternatively, a diploma from an accredited driving school and a minimum of one (1) year of prior driving experience within the last five (5) years may be considered. Must be at least 21 years or older. Safety & Knowledge: Ability to obtain and maintain necessary safety credentials for customer site access. Ability to read and comprehend material safety data sheets. Ability to routinely lift 25 - 75 lbs., and occasionally lift 76 to greater than 125 pounds with the aid of material handling equipment.
