The Acute Inpatient Oncology Unit at UVA Health is a newly built, 28-room facility specializing in Hematology-Oncology, Gynecology-Oncology, Neuro-Oncology, and Benign Hematology. Nurses on this unit care for patients receiving innovative therapies such as BiTE, HiPEC, and ISBT, with RN-to-patient ratios of 1:3 during the day and 1:4 at night. The unit offers opportunities for ONS Chemotherapy Certification, research mentorship, and advancement through UVA Health's Magnet-designated Clinical Career Ladder, creating a rewarding environment for oncology
