A day in the life The Government Markets Program Specialist is responsible for supporting the operations and initiatives of the government lines of business. This role works closely with both internal and external stakeholders to gain in-depth understanding of their business strategy, processes, services, business operations to support program implementation, operational effectiveness and contract compliance. Your responsibilities will include
- Translates moderately complex business needs into solid business and functional requirements.
- Provides support to assigned government programs for program implementation, operations and contract compliance.
- Identifies opportunities, contributes recommendations based on analysis of data, requirements and future impacts, and determines course of action.
- Drives work for assigned initiatives including business process change/improvement, testing, training, and communication.
- Identifies, researches, and troubleshoots a variety of system and process issues impacting the overall business operations of the department and division.
- Supports business initiatives through data analysis, ensuring contract compliance, identification of implementation barriers and performing user acceptance testing of various systems.
- Functions as a subject matter expert within applicable processes and/or reporting platforms.
- Facilitates meetings and collaborates between various internal departments and external business partners in a positive way to drive cross functional stakeholders to reach agreements and effective solutions.
- Collaborates with staff on process or system issues until full resolution, implementation and/or ongoing business or systems support is achieved and meeting operational needs.
- Prepares and distributes reports and metrics by analyzing and summarizing the information and trends.
- Analyzes and promotes business enhancement efforts with the goal of creating a positive impact on the customer experience and towards creating efficiencies.
- Participates actively in enhancement and implementation efforts to ensure the solution fits the needs of customers both internally and externally.
- Performs work under general supervision. Handles moderately complex issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.
What you need to succeed
- A Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, or a related field
- 3 years of experience in business operations, requirements gathering, business analysis, or related experience
- Healthcare industry experience is strongly preferred
- Communicates effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Demonstrates strong organizational understanding
- Collaborates well with others to achieve shared goals
- Possesses solid technical and professional knowledge and skills
- Identifies and resolves problems with a practical approach
- Manages projects with intermediate-level proficiency
