Description

Position Summary:

The Retail Banking Operations Consultant works to ensure the operational integrity of our Member Banks. Works under the leadership of the Retail Operations Manager and in coordination with Member Banks' leadership, subject matter experts, and shared services teams to ensure consistency with operational processes and procedures as accorded by the company and regulatory guidelines.

First Mutual Holding Co. (FMHC) is a member-owned holding company dedicated to supporting the growth and operational needs of mutual banks in ways that allow them to serve their communities. To support our mission, we will hire remotely only in the areas in which we currently operate, including Ohio, Kentucky, Virginia, West Virginia, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Indiana.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Provides Member Banks with guidance regarding Audit, Compliance, Operations, Retail Banking, and Risk to maintain operational integrity across all Member Banks.
  2. Works directly with Shared Services teams and Member Banks to document, coordinate, and maintain compliance, procedures, operations, and training activities to ensure consistency across the enterprise.
  3. Ensures policies and procedures are in place and are regularly maintained for all Member Banks consistently as regulations change and new products and services are rolled out. Works to remain up-to-date on new/pending regulatory changes to ensure effective communication and efficient implementation. Updates and maintains policy and procedure documentation as needed.
  4. Assists Member Banks with self-monitoring activities to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures.
  5. Assists the Retail Operations Manager and other Shared Services departments in monitoring, tracking and guiding Safe-act reporting activities for all Member Banks in coordination.
  6. Assists with centralized training as needed for all Member Banks.
  7. Proactively develops and maintains positive Member Bank relationships. Schedules and facilities regular meetings and discussions, provides effective updates, and ensures that all key stakeholders are consistently engaged.
  8. Plays a key role in new affiliation and conversion as the voice and advocate of the customer/Member Bank. Facilitates key relationships between various stakeholders and assures that new affiliates understand key processes, procedures, and functions of the shared services program.
  9. Maintains key relationships with business leaders, project managers, project sponsors, and FMHC Member Bank leadership.
  10. The Retail Banking Operations Consultant will increase effectiveness across the organization by committing to self-development, coaching, and formal training programs.
  11. Other duties as required.
Requirements

Qualifications and Skills:

  1. 2-4 years of banking experience is required, preferably in a service, operational, retail, or support environment. Experience must include working with core banking platforms such as Fiserv Cleartouch, Encompass, and Dealertrack.
  2. Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) or similar software is required.
  3. Experience leading or interacting with remote teams to drive successful outcomes and meeting deadlines is required.
  4. Compliance and policy documentation experience preferred.
  5. Experience managing, leading, or serving as the subject matter expert on organizational and departmental projects is preferred.
  6. Bachelor's degree or comparable work experience is required.

Physical Environment:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to lift, walk, stand, sit, bend, reach with hands and arms, climb, push/pull, use hands, and see, hear and speak.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
  • This position is performed in an office setting, five days a week with typical work hours being 8.30a through 5.15p.
