Description

SUMMARY

The Credentialing Assistant is responsible to assist with all aspects of credentialing and re-credentialing of health care professionals within the National Physician Recruitment Department. This position ensures all health care professionals are appropriately credentialed, which includes maintaining current information on file and within the health care professional database. This position primarily works independently, but frequently coordinates with the Credentialing Coordinator and Physician Recruitment Team.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS



  • Responsible for the completion of health care professional credentialing and re-credentialing for inclusion in the network.
  • Collect and confirm all source documentation including but not limited to: licensing, specialty certifications, proof of liability insurance, media relations and publications, patient reviews, practice address locations, court opinion legal documents and any/all other required documentation directly from applicable licensing authorities and/or other sources as required.
  • Responsible for monitoring all re-credentialing requirements and to ensure the collection of all required renewal certifications are on file within the required time frame.
  • Provide consistent and timely follow-up on all outstanding credentialing/re-credentialing needs.
  • Assist National Physician Recruiters with general administrative support services when needed.
  • Promote physician relations and assist with customer service needs as required.
  • Assist with special credentialing projects as directed by Management.
  • Maintain privacy and confidentiality of records and information at all times.
  • Participate in various educational/training or recruitment meetings as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Management.


Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or equivalent required. A minimum of two years of office experience required with on the job experience in a medical office or related field preferred.

  • Must be able to operate a general computer, fax, copier, scanner, and telephone.
  • Ability to type a minimum of 35 W.P.M.
  • Ability to handle multiple calls and at times an increased volume of incoming calls.
  • Must be knowledgeable of multiple software programs, including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and the Internet.
  • Must demonstrate exceptional communication skills by conveying necessary information accurately, listening effectively and asking questions when clarification is needed.
  • Must possess excellent skills in English usage, grammar, punctuation and style.
  • Ability to follow instructions and respond to Managements' directions accurately.
  • Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness with a high level of attention to detail and look for ways to improve and promote quality and monitors own work to ensure quality is met.
  • Must be able to work independently, prioritize work activities and use time efficiently.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
  • Must be able to demonstrate and promote a positive team -oriented environment.
  • Must be able to stay focused and concentrate under normal or heavy distractions and be able to work well under pressure and or stressful conditions.
  • Ability to identify and relay credentialing concerns promptly.
  • Must possess the ability to manage change, delays, or unexpected events appropriately.
  • Ability to follow all company policies and procedures in effect at time of hire and as they may change or be added from time to time.

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret common correspondence.
  • Ability to write clearly and informatively and edit own work for appropriate spelling and grammar.
  • Ability to respond appropriately and professionally to common inquiries or complaints.
  • Ability to write reports clearly and informatively and that conform to prescribed style and format.
  • Ability to effectively present information one-on-one, in small groups, to Management, and/or clients or vendors of the company.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to work at a desk or similar office-type furnishings up to 8 hours a day or longer as required by business needs.

  • Occasionally lifting and/or carrying up to 20 lbs.
