This Position reports to:

Sales Manager, South Region

Your role and responsibilities:

In this role, you will have the opportunity to be responsible for the sales of products/systems/services within a designated market/division, in line with the division strategy. Each day, you will achieve both qualitative and quantitative sales targets to ensure sustainable order growth, revenues, profitability, market share, and customer satisfaction. You will also showcase your expertise by identifying and developing new sales opportunities.

This role is contributing to the Process Automation - Measurement & Analytics in Mid-continent US region.

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Managing administrative procedures in sales processes and supports cash collection and project management activities, when needed.
  • Responsibility - To identify potential natural gas analytical projects and present ABB solutions that are fit-for-purpose for our customers. Once a project is received the candidate will design a solution involving as much ABB content as possible and begin to implement the solution for the customer
  • Goal - Effectively present the best solutions for our customers that meets and exceeds their expectations. The Technical Sales Specialist is the front line of offering and executing ABB solutions. Candidate must be technical, well-spoken and driven to succeed.
  • Market analysis -Monitor market trends and recommend adjustments for the strategy and plans accordingly to meet changing market and competitive landscapes. Provides appropriate market information for long- to mid-term decision making.
  • Marketing - Communicates the end user value proposition for ABB natural gas analytical solutions (internally and externally). Supports local Sales organization to have an effective perception in ABB Analytical Solutions. Creates and implements the communication, promotion and training activities in the segment.
  • Targets - Responsible for achieving key targets (e.g. volume, price, and mix) for the Region. Creates detailed business plans, implements with regular follow-up.
  • Account management - Ensures the major Analytical accounts in the region are identified and prioritized. May act as Account Manager for accounts in conjunction with the Analytical Sales Manager.
  • Customer relationship - Builds and maintains strong relationships with the key customers in the Northeast or West Region. Follows up ABB's performance in fulfilling their needs and communicates deficiencies and/or opportunities to the respective Business Units/Product Groups.
  • Contracts and negotiations - Works closely with the relevant Sales organization to help in the identification and capture of future business. Drives the capture of end user/third party agreements. Helps negotiate complex legal and commercial frame agreements.
  • Risk - Identifies and manages potential risks relating to contract agreements and prices across segments.
Qualifications for the role:
  • Associates Degree in Technology is preferred with combined 5 years' experience in instrumentation as either a customer, selling, technician or project manager.
  • Good time/activity and priority management skills with a strong willingness to learn and a passion for success; Competitor knowledge; Passion for winning, Resilience to overcome challenges.
  • Solid understanding of gas quality measurement products and technologies used throughout the oil and gas industry. Special areas of interest include online natural gas and process chromatograph analyzers, including TDL and NGL application expertise. Leverage any existing relationships in the industry to bring new selling opportunities to ABB
  • Obsessive focus on end users, their wants and needs, their goals and objectives, how they buy, how they maintain their equipment, how they partner with suppliers with the ability to design solutions particular to the customer's needs while driving ABB products into the solution.
  • Ability to develop relationships at all levels in ABB, our channel partners and our end users (from field personnel to corner office).
  • Prior work authorization to work in the U.S.
  • Ability and willingness to travel 30-50% of the time (up to 100 nights per year). Overnight travel includes travel to regions, factories, channel partner locations, customer locations, trade shows, sales meetings and industry conferences

While base salary is determined by things such as the successful applicant's qualifications and experience, this position is expected to pay between $98,700 and $157,920 annually and is bonus eligible.
