SUMMARY

The Nurse Care Partner is responsible for ensuring a safe environment for patients within the hospital setting. This role involves observing and reporting any changes in the patient's condition to the nurse accountable for the patient's care under the direction of a RN. The Nursing Care Partner will communicate with patients, family members, and all members of the healthcare team to relay appropriate information, contributing to patient care and creating a supportive and healing environment. The Nursing Care Partner's primary focus will be to promote a positive patient experience by partnering with the nurse, physician, healthcare team, and other healthcare providers to provide excellence in patient experience and assist with daily living activities and comfort measures. The Nursing Care Partner (NCP) assists other healthcare providers with safe, age-appropriate, and culturally aware care by performing clerical functions such as retrieving data, maintaining unit supplies, and transporting supplies. Performing essential patient care functions, i.e., ADLs, ambulation, and vital signs. The Care Partner must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, which requires multi-tasking and effective communication with the Registered Nurse and ancillary team.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Current Georgia Registered (RN) license
  • Two (2) or more years related including clinical experience in acute care setting, long-term care facility, or other verifiable direct clinical patient care experience.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
    Must have documented successful completion of the following education requirements: Classroom Based Skills training prior to patient assignment, and proof of Management of Aggressive Behavior Class Training within 90 days of hire. Or has enrolled in or completed an accredited nursing program or school.
