Overview

This is a hybrid role with the expectation that time working will regularly take place inside and outside of a company office.

The Process Optimization & Governance Team within the General Bank is responsible for building and running credit risk controls, issue management activities and key operational activities related to process improvement and procedure management. The Portfolio Credit Analyst will work directly with the Portfolio Management Officers to enhance manual controls using Tableau/Power BI, monitor control and project timelines, and build out reporting capabilities.




Responsibilities

  • Analysis - Sources, compiles, and interprets financial data or statements related to loan portfolios. Identifies factors that impact credit on both a quantitative and qualitative basis in order to inform credit relationships. Analyzes loan processes for accuracy and efficiency, effectively communicates analysis output. May facilitate the selection, status, and review of analysis packages.
  • Data Management - Ensures financial information used in analysis activities is accurate, complete, and consistent. Informs appropriate parties of discrepancies, developing methods to validate data and test quality controls.
  • Reporting - Produces reports or spreads based on analysis, key loan metrics, and credit relationships. Identifies and communicates trends that indicate risk or credit issues. Monitors loan performance to assist in larger portfolio management efforts.
  • Business Support - Provides analytical insight and technical skill to lending activities, maintaining strong industry, data, and credit knowledge to serve as a resource to associates. Recommends process improvements and risk mitigation strategies identified through data trends. Assists in other duties as needed to facilitate department processes.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of experience in Consumer and/or Commercial Credit Analysis OR High School Diploma or GED and 6 years of experience in Consumer or Commercial Credit Analysis

Skill(s): Understanding of financial principles and concepts, Knowledge of banking, loan, and credit terminology

The strongest applicants will have 1-3 years of experience in Tableau/Power BI.
