About Us The Office of the Maricopa County School Superintendent is led by the elected Superintendent. The office provides statutory services related to school governing board elections, bond and override elections, appointments, school finance, and maintaining homeschool and private school records. We Require
- Three years of progressively responsible management and/or supervisory experience in which one year of experience is working in a school
- Master's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Computer Science
- An equivalent combination of education and related experience may substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis

Job Contributions
- Conduct business process analysis, needs assessments, and implement technology solutions to support school districts and business service staff
- Provide leadership, consulting, and training to district business offices in areas of finance, payroll, compliance, and business operations
- Oversee and support the financial system, including updates, troubleshooting, SQL queries, testing, and on-call responsibilities
- Evaluate and improve business services, policies, and procedures; recommend and implement changes to enhance efficiency and compliance
- Ensure compliance with USFR, Arizona Revised Statutes, Auditor General guidance, federal/state financial regulations, and grant requirements
- Manage and monitor school district financial activities such as revenue limits, expenditures, reconciliations, garnishments, bond indebtedness, tax reporting, and internal audits
- Provide audit and outreach services to maximize funding use for student achievement
- Develop and lead in-house training, staff development, and cross-training programs to strengthen financial, accounting, and payroll functions
- Maximize existing resources to provide exceptional customer service to school districts, developing new methods and/or programs to support school district operations
- Other duties as assigned
