Environmental, Operations and Construction (EOC) operates within HDR's Federal Business Group, capable of delivering services across all HDR business groups at any location. Our work is performed by our professional staff, scientists and engineers at remote sites, embedded in client office space or our own facilities. EOC delivers quality engineering, environmental, and construction management services at competitive prices. This position is located at Keesler Air Force Base supporting the 81st Civil Engineering Squadron. In the role of Environmental Technician, we'll count on you to: Coordinate with base customers Support environmentally related programs Check sites for compliance with permits and policies Support environmental program managers Deliver and pick up supplies Conduct soil and water sampling if applicable Support training and conferences Perform continuing work assignments involving environmental physical science. Participate in and provide support to a variety of complex projects carried out by higher level staff and carries out smaller projects involving moderate levels of complexity and consequences Carry out assigned, well-defined, moderate-sized projects or assigned portions of more complex projects, (in-house and by contract), to comply with all applicable Federal, state, and local environmental laws and policies Coordinate curricula and training for assigned program areas at the installation. Support quality improvement and promote the environmental awareness program Provide advisory services on problems and issues relating to well-defined, moderate-sized projects in assigned program areas Media specific environmental compliance and pollution prevention expertise in Air, Water, Natural/Cultural Resources or RCRA/Haz Waste Perform other duties as needed Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Environmental Sciences or closely related field Knowledge of wetland delineation, field investigation techniques, and agency coordination requirements Excellent writing and communication skills MS Office experience An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must Required Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent Microsoft Office product experience General background-related experience An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must What We Believe HDR is our company.
