Description

Under the general direction of the Administrative Director of Environmental Services, directs and oversees the day-to-day operations of the UCLA Santa Monica Medical Center's Environmental Services department. Responsible to maintain efficient operations that adheres to the UCLAHS policies and procedures and regulatory requirements from Joint Commission, DPH, OSHA, EPA, DPT, SS Title 22, 24 and others. Operates departments effectively and meets, operational, budgetary, and financial goals and objectives. Develops staff in a manner that targets the improvement of the patient experience. Responsible for managing, developing and executing performance improvement and overall quality control programs.

Salary Range: $95,400 - $208,300 / annually

Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in Administration or Business Management; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 4-6 years of progressive managerial work experience in environmental services operations, preferably in a large, complex academic healthcare, hotel, or institutional setting, with proven knowledge and experience in the principles, practices, and trends of management.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with financial systems tracking, documentation, and reporting.
  • Previous leadership/management experience in a union environment.
  • Extensive level knowledge of current industry trends and performance improvement opportunities in quality of service score cards and patient throughput.
  • Extensive knowledge of current regulatory requirements at Federal, State and if applicable, local levels.
  • Superior ability to lead, direct and manage. Demonstrated experience in hiring, training, evaluating and disciplining staff. Foster the Principles of Community.
  • Proven experience using software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.



Preferred:






    • CHESP or Executive Leadership Training Cert.
    • Experience using patient throughput software systems, quality control and personnel management systems.
