The Senior Strategic Sourcing Specialist position at PPG Procurement in the USCA Aerospace division is responsible for delivering value across multiple aspects of the regional and global PPG Aerospace business platforms. The Senior Strategic Sourcing Analyst involves category management, upstream collaboration with the Aerospace Science and Technology (R&D) departments, and escalation of raw material availability issues. The position is based in Burbank, California, and requires travel between various sites. Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver value against multiple aspects of the regional and global PPG Aerospace business platforms
- Combine category management with upstream collaboration with the Aerospace Science and Technology (R&D) departments
- Intersect the business at Category Management and Coordination, S&T Collaboration and new product development, and raw material availability escalation
- Own certain raw materials used primarily within PPG Aerospace and set/own contracting strategy, negotiate pricing, supply assurance, working capital efficiency, and delivery against cost savings targets and single source reduction
- Serve as a key link between PPG Aerospace and other PPG Category Managers whose areas of material responsibility also impact the Aerospace business
- Collaborate with the various Aero S&T groups to drive value and resilience at the formulation stage, including movement away from single sourcing towards dual sourcing and design with flexibility in mind
- Facilitate resolution when the plant operations groups are unable to get suppliers to support production needs or require assistance for other supplier-related issues
- Identify alternative suppliers and sources
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in chemistry, Engineering, or related technical field preferred or comparable years of related experience preferred
- Two (2) years Aerospace coatings procurement experience preferred
- Must be able to effectively read, write, and communicate in English
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
