USA TODAY Sports is seeking a dogged news-breaker to deliver compelling, exclusive college sports content on multiple platforms at the speed of news. This is a big job that demands versatility and the ability to meet sports fans and consumers where they are. The candidate will compete for national news via written, social and video content, meaning a strong rolodex of sources, strong intuition to move news forward and comfort appearing on camera is vital to succeeding in this role. This journalist will consistently deliver news, analysis, commentary and storytelling to achieve ambitious but attainable goals. They will work collaboratively with journalists to maximize impact across the USA TODAY Network, which includes more than 250 sites. The best candidate will have dynamic writing ability, a curiosity to weigh in on complex topics and a hunger to lead coverage across the nation. We want someone who thinks big, writes with authority and moves the needle. At least five years of breaking news or sports commentary experience is preferred to succeed in this role. The ability to conceptualize content in creative ways that will influence and engage sports fans on all platforms is a must. This role is remote and can be based anywhere in the US, except for Alaska and Hawaii. Responsibilities:

Base compensation is reflective of many factors, including, but not limited to, the market in which one lives/works, individual education level, skills, certifications and experience.
