Position Summary
Directs and oversees Non-Sterile Manufacturing Assembly, Shipping, and Planning/Procurement operations, providing strategic leadership to ensure alignment with current and future customer demand. Builds and develops a high-performing, agile team capable of supporting the evolving needs of the business and driving sustained operational excellence.
What You'll do as a Director of Manufacturing & Supply Chain
- Collaborate with the Senior Director of Operations to develop comprehensive departmental operating budgets and capacity planning models that support long-term growth and efficiency.
Monitors key operational metrics across production, shipping, and inventory to ensure alignment with financial targets, safety standards, quality benchmarks, and on-time delivery goals. - Strategically deploys management resources to optimize support for assembly production teams and cross functional departments, ensuring seamless execution of operational priorities.
- Champions succession planning initiatives by identifying high-potential talent and providing targeted developmental opportunities to foster professional growth and leadership readiness.
- Drives operational excellence by coordinating and resourcing initiatives that support the Strategic Deployment Plan (True North), ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Aligns departmental capabilities to effectively support new product introductions and product line expansions, enabling successful market launches and scalability.
- Leads layout design and optimization efforts, leveraging experience in facility expansion and workflow efficiency to enhance operational throughput and flexibility.
- Promotes a lean culture by fostering a work environment focused on waste elimination, Customer satisfaction, market competitiveness through Lean Six Sigma and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
- Collaborate with peers to define and implement meaningful KPIs, ensuring performance indicators are aligned with annual operational plans and continuous improvement objectives.
- Provides strategic leadership in talent management and organizational development, overseeing staffing, promotions, and performance accountability while actively contributing to the creation of policies, standard procedures, and long-range strategic planning initiatives.
The Experience, Skills, and Abilities Needed
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree
- Minimum 10 years' experience in shipping & Logistics Experience in an FDA Regulated Environment
- Leadership Experience in High-volume FDA Regulated Manufacturing Environment
- Experience Leading Planning & Procurement Teams
- Prior Experience Managing Large Cross-functional Project Teams in Complex Manufacturing Environments
- Prior Experience with ERP systems (SAP or Oracle are a plus)
- Prior Experience with Barcoding Systems
Preferred:
- Graduate degree highly desirable
- Medical Device Experience
- Lean Six Sigma Background
- Expertise with barcoding program implementation

Pay rate for this opportunity is $141,737 - $175,087. This position is eligible forbonus participation. Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed. Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc. STERIS offers a comprehensive and competitive benefits portfolio.
