As the Supervisor for the Media Production Unit, you are responsible for managing the Production Assistants who process all of the daily graphical orders requested by show units. The artwork created by MPG is seen by viewers watching all Fox News Media platforms including Fox News and Fox Business! You have an interest in people management, news, and design with exceptional attention to detail.

Our team is staffed 24/7; you must be able to report into our NY office 4-5 days per week and be willing to adjust your schedule based on news and programming needs.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage and train production assistants who assign and check day-of-air graphics for show teams

  • Maintain team schedule and adjust to meet programming needs

  • React to breaking news by proactively assigning graphics, delegating responsibilities to staff, and communicating with live control rooms and show teams

  • Train staff on the best methods for quality control from an editorial and visual perspective

  • Assign daily requests and check orders alongside the PAs as the schedule and workload dictates

  • Cultivate professional relationships with show producers and control room staff to facilitate communication, problem solve, and manage expectations

  • Work with show teams to prioritize orders and suggest solutions for special requests

  • Ensure seamless handoff of information across PA shifts

  • Mentor PA's and work to advance their careers within the company

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • 5 years' experience in broadcast or other live media environment

  • Experience managing direct reports and providing employee feedback

  • Demonstrated experience problem solving and finding solutions

  • Exceptional organizational and decision-making skills

  • Demonstrated experience working under pressure and completing multiple tasks while maintaining a high degree of accuracy

  • Highly responsive to department needs and to external breaking news

  • Excellent editorial judgment and knowledge of current events

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Proficient in Office, Google apps, and communication tools such as zoom and slack

  • Working knowledge of Photoshop, VizRT (or other real-time graphics system)

NICE TO HAVE, BUT NOT A DEAL-BREAKER

  • Bachelor's degree in Broadcasting, Journalism or Communications

  • Experience using order management systems such as Jira and Confluence

  • Experience working in a live control room

  • Knowledge of Adobe suite, After Effects, Cinema 4D, Maya, Dalet

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $102,000.00-118,000.00 annually. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
