GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The purpose of this position is to coordinate the daily production activities of the Patching department.

Salary range $27.20

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Provides leadership of general Laborer crews.
  • Communicate with the Yard Manager, Leadman and Laborers regarding work instructions, materials and other requirements.
  • Coordinates with the Warehouse, other business Unit Foreman and quality control to ensure that the crew stays on schedule.
  • Serves as a mentor to the general laborers, providing guidance on SOP's, performance standards, safety, training and development.
  • Acquires shipping schedules and daily load lists from dispatch and distributes to the crane operators.
  • Coordinates scheduling of manpower start times and job assignments.
  • Communicates with leaders from other departments to determine stripping, form setting and production needs.
  • Troubleshoots complex loading, stock piling, material handling and production issues. Escalates to the Production Manager as necessary.
  • Promotes and ensures safety through safety inspections and employee observations. Serves as the point person for reporting of workplace injuries. Completes safety incident reports and forwards them to the Production Manager timely.
  • Provides conflict resolution of employee issues. Escalates issues to the Production Manager as necessary.
  • Provides constructive feedback to the Production Manager regarding Laborer performance.
  • Follows instructions, guidelines and procedures timely and accurately.
  • Continually and actively seeks to learn new skills and progress in level of knowledge and responsibility.
  • Actively looks for ways to improve processes, increase efficiencies and create cost savings.
  • Actively looks for ways to reduce errors.
  • Driving yard vehicles to include forklift, truck, trailer, tractor, and/or tucker.
  • Monitors housekeeping compliance.
  • Monitors labor reporting entries.
  • Troubleshoot patching issues.
  • Adhering to safety standards.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED



  • Has a thorough understanding of the Business Unit.
  • Previous manager/leadership skills preferred.
  • Ability to read a tape measure.
  • Ability to read a blue print.
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with a diverse group of people.
  • Ability to problem solve.
  • Ability to get to work on time, on a daily basis.
  • Ability to work outside year-round (if required).
  • Detail oriented
  • Possession of a valid driver's license, and the ability to operate a motor vehicle.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ ADA ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Hearing acuity and ability to communicate effectively with others.
