GENERAL PURPOSE Under direct supervision, applies basic engineering principles to support business objectives. Conducts feasibility studies, cost estimates, and develops engineering criteria. Performs analyses to recommend design options for structures, systems, and components. Works collaboratively on assigned projects with an emphasis on planning, teamwork, and achieving results. May provide entry-level leadership and apply knowledge of related disciplines to solve technical issues. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Applies fundamental engineering skills to assigned work and completes tasks as directed by leadership. Demonstrates the ability to take clear, detailed notes, documenting work and assumptions. Employs basic problem-solving techniques and applies engineering expertise to resolve issues. Integrates supply chain cost analysis, value stream capabilities, and economic principles into processes. Adheres to established engineering and quality standards. Utilizes originality and ingenuity to develop and apply innovative solutions. Obtains budget approvals through the appropriate processes. Seeks and applies mentoring from senior engineers and leadership. Performs additional responsibilities as needed to support business objectives. QUALIFICATIONS Education/Experience Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field from an accredited program OR Associate's/2-year technical degree in a related field plus 3 years of applicable engineering experience At least 1 year of professional engineering experience required for all candidates, preferably in a manufacturing environment Skills/Abilities Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to apply engineering expertise. Effective communication skills across production, engineering, and management teams. Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, AutoCAD, and engineering-related software. Familiarity with project management concepts and Lean principles. Ability to assess process concepts and identify opportunities for continuous improvement. Fundamental understanding of business principles and their impact on results. Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and workflows.
