Overview
he Corporate Communications Strategist is responsible for leading the development and execution of an integrated corporate communication strategy that aligns with business goals and enhances the company's internal and external brand. This role will work in close partnership with senior leadership, Employee Resources, and Marketing. You will craft and coordinate key messaging, manage platforms, and drive communication initiatives that inform, engage, and inspire employees while strengthening stakeholder relationships. Responsibilities
- Contributes to a positive work environment and promotes the vision, mission and values of BMC.
- Completes all job responsibilities in a safe manner, promotes and champions a safe and healthy work environment.
- Internal Communications:
- Manage the company intranet as the central resource for news and information
- Design and execute internal campaigns and executive messaging strategies, including announcements, newsletters, and multimedia content
- Maintain internal corporate PowerPoint templates, corporate email signatures, letterhead, etc.
- Lead the strategic selection, implementation, and adoption of internal communication tools, ensuring effective onboarding, training, and utilization.
- Ensure message alignment across business units, promoting clarity, consistency, and strategic intent in all internal communications
- Collaborate with various internal stakeholders such as Safety, IT, Employee Resources, Legal, Talent & Development, etc. to develop and execute internal communication plans aligned to company strategy and values
- Act as the communication liaison for internal stakeholders during safety events, crises, or legal-related situations, ensuring timely, accurate, and coordinated messaging
- External Communications:
- Collaborate with Marketing to shape external narratives, oversee public relations strategy, and amplify the company's voice through news, sponsorships, and community engagement
- Act as liaison between Blanchard and Public Relations vendors as needed.
- Work with Employee Relations to identify and share employee stories, cultural highlights, and community involvement
- Collaborate with Marketing social media coordinator to create content for social media accounts.
- Contribute to facility launch communications
- Serve as the central point of contact for communication-related activities during emergencies, coordinating with Safety, Legal, and Executive teams
- Contribute to emergency communication planning, message templates, and internal protocols
- Ensure critical information reaches affected employees or stakeholders through approved channels
- Help facilitate debrief and post-incident communication reviews to improve response procedures
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in internal and/or corporate communications.
- Microsoft Office; experience with CanvaCanva, or video editing tools is a plus.
- Excellent writing, editing, and content planning skills.
- Experience managing intranetintranet platforms and/or internal communication tools.
- Strong project management and cross-team coordination skills.
- Familiarity with industrial, service-based, or field operations environments is helpful but not required.
- Collaborative - proven ability to build cross-functional relationships, navigate challenges and be a great team member.
- Exceptionally strong communication skills, including interviewing, writing and editing.
Working Conditions
- The physical environment requires the employee to work primarily inside throughout the day; however, this position may also require working in non-climate-controlled environments as well as outdoors.
- Position requires employee to be physically present at job site location.
- Job requires standing, stooping, squatting, pushing, pulling, twisting, turning, lifting.
- Seeing, reading, and writing to complete job responsibilities.
