Specializing in precision machining and metal fabrication, our Sanmina Newark, California facility has 16 years experience in both precision and large format solutions for industrial, semiconductor, clean technology and oil & gas markets. We provide comprehensive engineering and test capabilities: from in-house and hydrostatic leak-testing of medium and large format vacuum chambers to machining of precision stainless steel mechanisms. We have the capacity to machine components up to 3 meters. Our metal fabrication services include grinding, vacuum welding, heat treating, plating and anodizing. We can process many advanced materials, including aluminum, stainless steel, plastics, ferrous-nonferrous and other exotic alloys.

Job Purpose:

Performs a wide variety of electronic or electro-mechanical assembly tasks in support of developmental requirements in pre-production projects. Works from rough schematics, blueprints and oral instructions to construct developmental assemblies, sub-assemblies and components.

Nature of Duties/ Responsibilities:



  • Must have the ability to perform a wide variety of mechanical or electro-mechanical assembly operations according to verbal or written instructions, or by following drawings or diagrams.
  • Must be able to operate hand tools, power tools and material handling equipment as needed
  • Initiates process improvements of assigned working area.
  • Must be able to read and interpret mechanical drawings/schematics.
  • Must be oriented and capable of meeting daily goals for production.
  • Requires the ability to operate alignment tooling, precision tooling as well as basic hand tools.
  • Builds both basic and complex mechanical assemblies.
  • Assists with loading the carts and other material handling duties.
  • Operates various hand tools.
  • Performs other assembly related duties.
  • Follows all company and facility policies including quality, safety, conduct and attendance.
  • Must do all of the above safely and responsibly
  • Demonstrates mechanical ability.


Education & Experience:



  • Requires a minimum of 4-6 years related experience of production and technical knowledge.
  • High school diploma and college courses preferred.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize work load to meet strict deadlines under supervision
  • Prior experience reading and understanding prints and drawings.
  • Previous assembly experience is desired
  • Must be mechanically inclined

Salary Range (annual): $49,920 - $58,240 ($24 -$28 per hour). Actual base pay within this range (determined at the offer stage) will be based on a candidate's years of relevant work experience, education, certifications, and skills, and is just one element of our total rewards package.
