Description
Summary / Position Purpose: Hisco, a division of TestEquity is searching for a Facilities Coordinator for the Houston facility. The Facilities Coordinator is responsible for maintaining the functionality, safety, and appearance of the facility. This role includes a wide range of repair and maintenance tasks, supporting warehouse operations, and ensuring compliance with safety standards through ongoing training and proactive practices. Essential Duties, Functions and/or Responsibilities:
- Perform general building maintenance including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting.
- Conduct routine inspections of facilities and equipment.
- Coordinate repair or replace defective components such as door hardware, lighting fixtures, and HVAC filters.
- Assist with office and warehouse setup, including furniture assembly and minor renovations.
- Ensure all calibration of equipment according to the QMS is up to date in QT9
- Maintain exterior grounds including minor landscaping and pressure washing.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies.
- Support warehouse operations as needed, including material handling, equipment upkeep, and shipping as required by Warehouse Manager.
- Develop and implement safety protocols and training programs to ensure compliance with OSHA and company standards.
- Coordinate the records and maintenance on all equipment, generator, shipping scales, forklift maintenance, overhead doors, HVAC etc.
- Ensure all permits related to the building are up to date and easily assessable and work with Fire Marshal on related types of city regulations.
- Monthly inspections of fire extinguishers and coordinating quarterly inspections.
- Maintain security system, setting up new users, removing obsolete users
- Identify and report potential safety hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Coordinate with external contractors for specialized repairs.
- Indirectly responsible for product quality
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Forklift certification preferred
- 3+ years of experience in general maintenance or handyman work.
- Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry systems.
- Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various environments (indoor/outdoor).
- Valid driver's license preferred.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations and safety protocols is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards
