We are currently hiring aLaboratory Operations Technician Co-op in Boston, MA in our Product Development Laboratory.

The Laboratory Operations (Lab Ops) Co-op will be responsible for implementing, tracking, and reporting on product development projects. Working alongside the rest of the Laboratory Operations Team, this role will include preparing and processing prototypes for new and existing products, analyzing and compiling data to help set product specifications, and maintaining a clean and highly functional product development laboratory. Must be 21+.

This position reports to? Laboratory Operations Manager

Hours: 8:30a - 5:00p

What you'll Brew



  • Lab Maintenance and upkeep:
  • Calibration of analytical equipment
  • Blend prototypes with fellow technicians for the following purposes:
  • Consumer Tests
  • Internal Tastings
  • New Product Development blends
  • Product Optimization blends
  • Sensory Testing
  • Other blends as needed
  • Operate and manage carbonation equipment
  • Operate and manage pasteurization equipment
  • Work with colleagues to prepare and ship all samples on time
  • Contribute to the development of products across the entire portfolio of brands.
  • Create Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for any new system and update SOPs for systems that are implemented while part of the team.
  • Work with Lab Operations Team to maintain inventory of lab supplies



What Ingredients You'll Bring

Minimum Qualifications



  • Enthusiasm for Food Science and Beverage Development
  • Interest in fermentation, food and beverage, food pairings, etc.
  • Experience in a scientific laboratory setting preferred
  • Adaptability and comfort in a fast-paced and constantly changing work environment.


Education & Experience:

Desired Major: Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, or other Life Sciences preferred.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel & Word is required. Experience with OneNote, Sharepoint, OneDrive, Outlook, PowerPoint is preferred.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

Physical requirements: Ability to lift at least 30 pounds (1 case of beer). Ability to stand for long periods of time (8-hour workday). Must be 21+

In accordance with pay transparency laws the rate for this role if hired is $18 - $20 an hour.
