Principal Business Systems Analyst

POSITION PURPOSE

PGE seeks a Senior Information Technology Analyst to support its Energy Trading and Risk Management (ETRM) business technology platform. This position will be responsible to analyzing, recommending, and implementing technology solutions that will further increase the capability, effectiveness and efficiency required by PGE to enjoy continued success within the energy trading and risk management business arena. This highly visible position will work with other teams with evolving the future of the platform that brings people, processes and technology together drive success on behalf of all PGE constituents to include Customers, Shareholders, Employees, and the Environment.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The energy sector is undergoing rapid and complex transformation, shaped by regulatory, policy, economic, technology, social and climate forces. In this role, you will help senior I.T. leadership and key business partners to understand, quantify and act upon uncertainty in an increasingly complex and data-driven business landscape.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • 3-5 years of Endur experience as an SME working in the Energy and Commodities work space.
  • Provide support of Endur end-user community and be able to be an active participant in project work.
  • Create strategies and apply best practices for designing, configuring, customizing, integrating, and implementing energy trading and risk management solutions
  • Work with Front, Middle and Back Office functions with configuration, enhancement, and daily support of Trading (financial, physical), Logistics (Scheduling), Risk (Market, Credit, Operational, Compliance, etc.), and Settlements (AR/AP Process, Invoice Management, etc.) business teams
  • 3-5 years Specializing in Endur configuration and business analysis for power/gas trading solutions include financial, physical, and complex power transactions (PPAs).
  • Lead requirements gathering, functional analysis, functional design and end-to-end support and enhancement of the Endur ETRM system for Power, Gas, Coal, and Renewables trading and risk management
  • Increase business effectiveness and efficiency by implementing new product version capabilities.
  • Will advise on best practices for the design of work and data flows between front office, mid-office, and back-office systems/processes
  • Assess data, both master and transactional, and create a data cleansing, migration, and archival
  • Provide comprehensive document of changes, coordinate user testing, user training
  • Manage tasks, timelines, progress reporting of key deliverables
  • Provide inputs on optimizing the product configuration, customization, and integration needs
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of Trading, Risk Management and Logistics tools (including third party, OATI products a plus) and emerging trends
  • Work across multiple levels, geographies, and multi-cultural teams
  • Maintain highly effective communication with internal stakeholders and adept in handling business changes and managing stakeholder expectations

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

To achieve success, the individual filling this role must bring a combination of expert technical skills and business acumen, effective communication and influence skills and an ability to quickly establish trust and credibility with other teams, both business and technology.

Strong candidates will have:

  • BS of CS or MIS or equivalent industry related experience
  • 3+ years of Ion Openlink Endur Version 19 or later hands-on experience, Cloud deployment a plus
  • 5+ years of commodity trading, risk, and logistics experience with large enterprise environments
  • 2+ years' experience in writing basic SQLs, understanding of the Endur data model
  • Experience in system integration best practices specifically for power operations (Scheduling/ISO integration)

Certifications, Licenses and Training Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) certification preferred

Compensation Range:

$119,840.00 - $222,560.00

Actual total compensation, including a performance based incentive bonus, is commensurate with experience, skills, qualifications, education, training, and internal equity. While we anticipate the selected candidate for this position will fall towards the middle or entry point of the compensation range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis.
