Estimator

Key responsibilities:

• Review and interpret customer RFQs, machining, and welding drawings to determine scope and requirements.
• Develop detailed cost estimates using internal data and supplier quotes.
• Complete and maintain cost sheets for each quote and quote revisions.
• Coordinate with suppliers to obtain pricing for materials, subcontracted services, and components.
• Collaborate with engineering, production, and purchasing teams to ensure accurate and feasible estimates.
• Ensure all estimates are complete, accurate, and submitted on time.

• Maintain organized records of quotes, the quote log, and supporting documentation.
• Support continuous improvement of estimating processes and tools.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in estimating within a manufacturing environment, preferably involving machining (turning, milling, cylindrical grinding, hobbing, broaching, etc.), welding (MIG, Subarc, TIG), and assembly processes.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications including GD&T.

• Experience with ERP systems; Epicor ERP E10 is a plus.
• Familiarity with CAD software; SolidWorks experience is a plus.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

• Working knowledge of computers and business software (Microsoft Office, Excel)
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to juggle multiple tasks
• Comfortable working in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment
