Inspector III Temp 1st Shift
The following describes in general terms the purpose and scope of the position. To ensure product compliance to all engineering drawings, specifications, procedures and customer purchase order requirements. Performs inspection functions associated with machined parts and assemblies per written inspection instructions and/or supervision direction.

Job Summary
- Be team oriented with an understanding of continuous improvement initiatives.
- Understand and use tools provided in trainings for problem solving, auditing, paint inspection, inspection tool usage, inspection tool calibration, blueprint and mylar reading, and understand GD&T requirements.
- Be familiar with and perform all inspection requirements specified on the traveler including but not limited to final, in-process and receiving inspection.
- Be familiar with and use inspection requirements.
- Responsible for the proper handling and management of hazardous waste generated in their work area.
- Perform other duties as assigned including leading projects and participation in project committees.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Ability to be self-motivated, and perform work functions with no supervision.
- Must be dependable and punctual in attendance.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form, or provide instructions to peers.
- Ability to effectively present information to supervision and/or other employees of the organization, as well as customers and customer representatives.
- Read and understand shop planning, and make suggestions of improvements for product flow.
- Read and interpret blueprint callouts, and effectively explain interpretation to other departments or inspectors as required.
- Must have a thorough understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
- Read and understand internal and customer specifications.
- Utilize all common precision measuring instruments, such as micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, height gages, as well as thickness & surface finish test instruments.
- Perform and document first article inspections and results.
- Ability to accurately utilize standard shop math such as addition, subtraction, division, multiplication and trigonometry in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
- Ability to properly document non-conforming conditions utilizing the non-conformance system.
- Ability to prepare product documentation packages and certifications.
Other Physical Requirements:
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close/distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
Required Experience and Education
- Minimum 10 years of aerospace quality assurance and/or aerospace manufacturing experience.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) minimum is required.
