The Position

Doing now what patients need next. Near Patient Care is committed to helping people with diabetes everywhere in the world think less about their daily diabetes routine, so they can get true relief, day and night. We offer a broad portfolio of solutions for both people with diabetes and their professionals - from blood glucose monitoring to information management to continuous glucose monitoring. Our aim is to offer innovative products, services and comprehensive solutions for convenient, efficient and effective diabetes management.

Internal Manufacturing Indianapolis is a function within Roche Diagnostics - Near Patient Care Operations, responsible for the strip manufacturing of the majority of our blood glucose monitoring portfolio for the global demand of our patients. In the future, Internal Manufacturing Indianapolis will also be responsible for sensor manufacturing for our continuous glucose monitoring portfolio.

As Operations Strategic Planning Lead, you will be responsible for driving cross-functional collaboration and change management to optimize manufacturing processes and systems, leveraging LEAN/Six Sigma methodologies. You will develop and monitor KPIs, design strategies for continuous improvement, mentor teams, and ensure alignment with organizational goals while staying current on best practices to deliver exceptional efficiency and performance.

The Opportunity

  • You align the organization in implementation of cross functional projects that address inefficiencies in processes and systems. You drive the implementation to specific schedules and goals.

  • You partner with cross functional groups such as Mfg Systems, Production, Process Development, Quality and 3rd parties to deliver optimal results.

  • You serve as a leader and change advocate using LEAN/Six Sigma methodologies and other advanced manufacturing practices to accomplish objectives. You model a continuous improvement mind-set through daily actions.

  • You set KPIs for manufacturing processes and drive to reach those goals. You hold KPI reviews in functional team meetings and participate in setting objectives during Business Planning cycles.

  • You ensure processes are monitored and KPIs drive behavior. Periodically reports status to stakeholders.

  • You develop a standardized approach to measure process performance throughout the organization. You analyze production performance data to identify improvement opportunities and optimize performance.

  • You mentor team members in continuous improvement strategies and methodologies. You coach and teach others on the use and application of continuous improvement tools.

  • You obtain input from, and communicate to, stakeholders and team members on plans, proposals, status and risks.

  • You stay current in best-in-class operational management practices through training, seminars, networking, and other various channels.

  • You develop manufacturing strategy with the Operations Leadership Team and drive implementation of strategy.

Who You Are

  • You have a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, Operations Management, Sciences or closely related scientific/technical discipline.

  • You have a proven track record of managing medium to large scale improvement projects and delivering results through implementation and expertise with the continuous improvement methodologies.

  • You have 5+ years of experience in Operations or Engineering, including experience in successfully leading cross functional teams in driving manufacturing results.

Preferred

  • You have current proficient level knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma and process-effectiveness principles and practices, and the ability to apply (focus - Visual Management, bottleneck analysis, Hoshin Kanri policy development, development of KPI's, OEE, takt time)

  • You have an advanced technical degree, MBA or 3 years of experience in Industrial, Operational or Supply Chain Management.

  • You have well-developed analytical skills and strong experience with data analysis and visualization software (MS Office, SQL database querying, Tableau)

  • You have the ability to model and simulate process changes to predict results.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • You have experience in collaborating and influencing leadership teams to develop strategy and implementation of strategy.

  • You have proven skills in stakeholder management, and team management that are not direct reports.

  • You have the ability to effectively negotiate and influence others.

  • You have knowledge of business and compliance requirements in change management in a regulated industry.

  • You have experience in industrial finance, labor optimization and asset management.

  • You have strong written and verbal communication skills

Locations

You are based in Indianapolis. This is an onsite position.

Relocation benefits are not available for this position.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Indiana is $101,700 and $188,800. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
