Description and Requirements

Job Summary:

Lenovo is seeking a Product Manager to join its World-Wide OEM team and focus on portable smart devices. In this role, you will drive the strategy and execution for portable products and solutions, overseeing the entire product lifecycle from concept to launch and continuous improvement. Responsibilities include strategic planning, market analysis, and close collaboration across engineering, design, and business teams. As the central link between these functions, you will ensure mobile solutions meet customer needs, deliver exceptional user experience, and contribute to business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Product Requirements: Define and manage product requirements leveraging market data, competitor analysis, industry standards, and the technology roadmap to deliver value that meets user needs, business goals, and customer expectations.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and threats. Use insights to inform product strategy and decision-making.
  • Product Development: Collaborate with engineering and design teams to define product requirements, specifications, and roadmaps. Ensure timely and successful product launches.
  • Lifecycle Management: Oversee the entire product lifecycle, from concept to end-of-life. Implement strategies for product updates, enhancements, and discontinuations.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, sales, and partners to develop go-to-market strategies, promotional plans, and customer engagement initiatives.
  • Financial Management: Monitor and manage the financial performance of the product & portfolio, including budgeting, forecasting, and profitability analysis.
  • Customer Focus: Gather and analyze customer feedback to continuously improve products and address customer needs. Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with product development, market entry, and competitive pressures.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required (e.g., Engineering, Business, or a related field).
  • 5+ years' experience in product management, with a focus on mobile devices and solutions.
  • Proficiency in project management and financial analysis.
  • Knowledge of market research and competitive analysis techniques.
  • Flexibility to travel as needed (10%-20%).

Preferred Skills:

  • MBA or Master's degree
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Familiarity with hardware development processes and technologies.
  • Manage relationships and negotiate effectively with partners and distributors.
  • Experience in the technology or electronics industry.
  • Understanding of customer relationship management (CRM) systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
This position will be based in our North America Headquarters in Raleigh, NC. Our office has transitioned to a hybrid work environment supporting 3 days onsite and 2 days remote. Candidates that are already local to Raleigh, NC are preferred.
