The Analyst of Internal Controls and Business Processes plays a key role in supporting the successful execution of acquisition and divestiture activities across the organization. This position focuses on evaluating, documenting and integrating business processes during transitions while also supporting operational readiness, risk mitigation and post-close optimization. The role collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless transitions and alignment with guidance and standards. This role will drive operational efficiencies within the company's financial and operational framework.

Job Duties and Key Responsibilities:

  • Acquisitions and Divestitures Support:
    • Participate in due diligence activities by gathering and analyzing control-related data to ensure the readiness and quality of the implementation of newly acquired entities and/or assets
    • Participate in seamless integration of data related to acquired entities and assets into existing the ERP system, business processes, and control frameworks
    • Assist in identifying gaps in process, integration risks and transition requirements
    • Develop and implement or participate with divestiture plans to ensure compliance and operational continuity
  • Business Process Integration and Improvement:
    • Closely monitor data across key systems to ensure alignment and data integrity
    • Document and analyze end-to-end business processes across finance and operations to identify areas for improvement
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to document and implement improved workflows
    • Develop and oversee resource tools used in accordance with managing large amounts of data to ensure completeness and accuracy
    • Monitor post-close performance and support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Reporting and Documentation:
    • Prepare integration status updates, risk assessments and process documentation
    • Track key milestones and deliverables for transition and transaction related projects
    • Maintains comprehensive tracking documentation of deliverables for cross-functional teams and collaborates with 3rd parties to ensure receipt in a timely manner
    • Present findings and recommendations to management
  • Internal Controls (Supportive Role):
    • Oversee internal controls related to acquisition and divestiture activities
    • Support control testing and remediation activities as needed during transition
    • Coordinate various efforts with internal and external audit partners as needed for control testing support

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
  • At least two (2+) years of experience in business process improvements and M&A integration, preferably in the oil and gas industry
  • Familiarity with acquisition/divestiture lifecycle and integration best practices
  • Strong understanding of how decisions may impact others beyond their assigned area of responsibility
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP)
  • Spotfire or other reporting tool proficiency a plus
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Process oriented with strong attention to detail
