General Purpose of Role Supervise a small Document Control team (typically 5-10 people); team supervision may be within a department, or for a project team. Role may also have system specialization function. Ensure that all project documentation is accurately logged, managed and issued via the Electronic Document Management System. It is imperative that each project has an accurate database containing each revision of all documents/drawings issued on a project and capturing all necessary meta-data for each record including every document that is issued to each Company throughout the life of the project. Additional Technical Information Global Level Details Global Level Summary Responsible for performing difficult and complex work assignments involving independent judgment to determine a course of action consistent with established functional and organization's policies and goals. While the role may have lead responsibilities, the role is primarily an individual contributor with advanced, specialized technical knowledge. Typical Qualifications Technical school graduate with 7+ years relevant experience in area of specialization or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Decision Making Generally characterized as a "Lead" with the ability to conceptually interpret and lead technical support assignments. Performs difficult and highly complex technical support assignments, requiring the application of advanced techniques, and engineering and mathematical principles, in accordance with established standards and procedures. Supervision Received Works under general supervision and self-initiated technical guidance with regular weekly to monthly interaction with supervisor. Work is not generally supervised in detail and amount of supervision varies depending upon the assignment. Broad duties assigned monthly. Work is occasionally reviewed for accuracy. Usually technical guidance is available to review work programs and advise on unusual features of assignment.
