Description

The UCLA Department of Medicine is seeking a dedicated Psychologist I to play a pivotal role in advancing behavioral health services for patients living with sickle cell disease. In this position, you will provide direct behavioral health support to patients within our established Med-Peds primary care clinics, collaborating closely with physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals to ensure comprehensive, patient-centered care.

This role offers a unique opportunity to help shape and launch the Sickle Cell Care and Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities (LEND) Programs within our clinics. Your work will directly contribute to building an integrated care model that not only addresses the complex behavioral health needs of patients but also supports our broader vision:




  • Expanding access to specialty care by creating a network of Sickle Cell Disease Centers and LEND Centers across counties with the greatest patient needs.



  • Elevating quality of care by embedding behavioral health into multidisciplinary treatment plans.



  • Improving patient outcomes by addressing the psychological, emotional, and social challenges that accompany chronic illness.

Qualifications
Required:
  • Skill and experience in providing psychological clinical services to patients with acute or chronic medical problems and their families.
  • Skill in individual psychotherapy.
  • Skill in family psychotherapy.
  • Skill in group psychotherapy.
  • Skill in developing and presenting psychoeducational materials and in making group presentations.
  • Skill in clinical and educational writing.
  • Knowledge of state and federal laws and legal requirements.
  • Skill in providing clinical supervision.
  • PhD in Clinical Psychology from APA approved program
